The findings in this study are unexpected and, as pointed out in the study, far beyond what anyone person can know. In fact, the subject can only be known collectively in large, diverse groups dedicated to the common good above individual self-interest. As did our distant ancestors, we not only arrive socially hardwired to collectively strengthen institutions that have the common good at heart, but also on the dark side of the common good, we arrive fully equipped with the instinctive guile to collectively dismantle self-serving institutions.
