Blue Organizational Solutions

Why Blue Organizational Solutions?

Blue Organizational Solutions specializes in stabilizing management structures. Not only is profit a poor substitute for stability, profit comes from this stability. Dr. Blue built this approach from his 40-plus years as a practicing CPA and his years of graduate work and research into organizational behavior. Most organizations consider themselves stable, even though the management level that provides this stability remains unstaffed. Without an outside intervention to properly staff this midlevel, a break of three to six months in resource commitments destabilizes the entire management structure.

Clients schedule their sessions online (see Book Session on the menu). This online format allows participants from across the organization to meet without having to crowd into a room. A facilitator from Blue Organizational Solutions meets online with the group for three to six months until the members are ready to run the meetings themselves. Once the group is ready to take over, in one form or another, the members fire the facilitator. If instead, employees step in as facilitators, they frame themselves as troublemakers. Then it’s they who get fired. That’s why the midlevel remains a threat and unstaffed until a competent person intervenes.

Sigmond Freud found this threat internal to the psyche as a death drive. A half-century later, Joanne Faulkner found this drive internal to organizations where, as she wrote, this drive finds “specific pleasure precisely in what is most painful.” Canadian psychiatrist Elliott Jaques called such a workplace “an unpleasant paranoiagenic zoo.” While Jaques identified and coined the phrase “midlife crisis”, he missed the “midlevel” as most everyone does. Peter Drucker referred to Jaques’ work as “the most extensive study of actual worker behavior in large-scale industry.” Digging further into Jaques’ work, Dr. Blue found the midlevel most obvious and essential for a stable structure.
